A study in European heritage and Old World artistry, The Vieux Brussels II Hunting Tapestry Cushion brings the grandeur of historic Belgian tapestry into the modern country house. Inspired by one of the twelve hunting scenes from the celebrated Maximilian series, this richly detailed design recreates a late-16th-century tapestry woven for Archduke Maximilian, who would later become Emperor.
At its center, the scene features the ram of Aries, representing the month of March, alongside the mounted figure of Emperor Charles V. Woven in Belgium in a warm, timeworn palette of brown and natural tones, the cushion lends an unmistakably collected, equestrian character to libraries, studies, drawing rooms, and leather-clad sitting areas.
The lined reverse is finished with a discreet zipper for a polished presentation. Style it with aged leather, dark woods, antique brass, and other equestrian-inspired pieces for the layered sophistication of The Heritage Stable House or The Sporting Estate.
