An homage to ancient form interpreted through a contemporary lens, the PALO SANTO Tributo Vessel is a sculptural expression of earth, fire, and handcraft. Conceived in tribute to ancestral vessels once associated with ritual and offering, its distinctive silhouette and tactile surface give it the presence of a collected artifact—beautifully suited to The Designer’s Courtyard.
An original PALO SANTO design, each Tributo is formed entirely by hand in Oaxaca by women artisans using ceramic techniques passed down through generations. Created individually and without the use of molds, every vessel retains the subtle irregularities and gestures that reveal the hand of its maker.
After shaping, the vessel is fired using a traditional open-flame technique. Smoke and heat interact naturally with the Oaxacan clay, producing nuanced shifts in color, darkened firing marks, and variations in texture and finish. The result is an object that feels both elemental and refined, with no two pieces ever exactly alike.
Display the Tributo unadorned to emphasize its architectural silhouette, or fill it sparingly with olive branches, flowering quince, or other sculptural botanicals. Its scale makes it particularly striking atop an aged console, limestone pedestal, substantial dining table, or courtyard-inspired vignette.
