Sculptural and elemental, the PALO SANTO Ofrenda Vessel is an original design inspired by ancestral forms once created for ritual and offering. Its generous silhouette, hand-worked surface, and earthen character give it the presence of a collected artifact—an especially compelling piece for The Designer’s Courtyard.

Each Ofrenda is formed entirely by hand in Oaxaca by women artisans using ancestral ceramic techniques passed down through generations. Made one at a time and without the use of molds, every vessel retains the subtle irregularities and gestures of its maker.

Once shaped, the natural clay is fired using a traditional open-flame process, where smoke, heat, and earth determine the final surface. Tonal shifts, smoky markings, textural variations, and subtle imperfections emerge naturally through the firing, giving every Ofrenda its own distinctive patina.

Beautiful enough to stand alone, the vessel can be displayed as a sculptural object on a limestone pedestal, aged console, or substantial table. For a more organic composition, style it sparingly with architectural branches or seasonal botanicals, allowing its expressive silhouette to remain the focus.
