Its sweeping barrel-shaped back is intricately woven from slender strips of tropical cane, creating a delicate-looking latticework balanced by a sturdy blue gum wood frame.

Handwoven in Malawi by artisans of People of the Sun, each chair reflects a long tradition of African cane weaving. Subtle variations in tone, weave, and proportion are part of its handmade character, giving every piece the individuality of something collected rather than manufactured.

Its natural honeyed finish and graceful silhouette make the Malawi chair especially beautiful in The Conservatory and The Garden Pavilion, surrounded by botanical prints, aged terracotta, limestone, garden greenery, and washed linen.
